Well ladies, I received an email from Once Upon a Stamp today that said

"I have now altered the wording on the web site to make things a bit clearer , but i do take your point .

Im not sure why you would bring trading standards in to this .

What was the order number ? so i can get these in the post to you."

So hopefully I will receive the mats by Christmas..............but on a much better note, there are some online shops that DESERVE praise for their customer service and that would be OYSTER STAMPS. I had placed an order for a couple Christmas dies, to get a head start for next years cards and they mistakenly sent me the Christmas Snowflake corner instead of the Christmas classic ornament die from Memory Box, well I received this email back in regards to the one I sent them

Pleae keep the incorrect Die with our Compliments.

I will make sure the correct items is Shipped Monday.

You Decide.......Am I Right or Wrong

This is what is written on the ONCE UPON A STAMP website, and I placed an order for 4 of the Grand Nestabilities dies made by SPELLBINDERS on Monday and received them today minus the bonus offer.. I emailed them to let them know I never received the magnetic mats, to which they replied " This offer only applies to the normal dies offer which is 4 for £59 , it does not apply to the grand dies." Now as I read the offer which is stated under the A4 nested dies, no where does it state that it only applies to the smaller dies, so i have emailed them back about this.............now am I right or wrong on this? YOU DECIDE

Good evening one and all..............I'm here to announce the winner of my birthday blog candy, but first I want to thank all of my followers for being there for me during this trying time of this strange illness. I'm off to see physio this Friday to see what they have come up with, but one of my lovely followers suggested getting my Dr. to order a tens machine, but rather than waiting I ordered one myself and it arrived today, so I am trying that on my lower back to see if it will help with the pain and will also try it tomorrow on my arms to see what happens, as the pain pills I have been prescribed do absolutely nothing for the pains in my hands. I do wish someone could come up with a solution for the feelings in my fingertips, from the knuckle to the fingertip it feels absolutely frozen all the time from the time I wake up till I go to sleep at night, and some nights I don't get any sleep due to the constant freezing feeling. I've tried dipping them in ice water, I've tried hot water, placing them in a heating pad, nothing gets rid of the feeling. Imagine dipping your fingers in ice water until it's frozen your fingertips, that's what it's like for me 24/7 and it really is impeding me doing much, although I can manage to do die cutting which I have been doing, so I'm working on building up a supply of them so they are ready to just grab when I want to add one to a card.

Birthday Candy....as promised

Sorry I'm so late in posting this, as I said I was going to post it Nov 1st, but circumstances got in the way, and the last few days I have come down with yet another cold, just after the other ended on Thursday. Friday I was feeling pretty good, and even went out and did a bit of food shopping.......big mistake mixing with other people while my immune system is not working as it should, as it allowed another virus to invade my body.

Anyhow I went for the Nerve Conduction Studies and Electromyography tests yesterday at the hospital, and hopefully will have a definitive diagnosis by the end of the month, so that some sort of treatment can be started.

So for this blog candy, I only have a few rules (doncha just hate rules!)

Bearly Mine Challenge #25 Untraditional Christmas

Good Morning Everybody, time for a new challenge at Bearly Mine Challenges

And our wonderful challenge this week is Untraditional Christmas, so NO RED OR GREEN on your cards, so I've created a Shaker card using lovely shades of pink and white. The circle was cut out using the Scalloped Circles Stackers Nesting Dies and the Circle Stackers Nesting Dies from Cheery Lynn Designs, I then used two pieces of acetate and in between them, salt, glitter dust and some sparkly silver stars. I've added some pearls around the scallop, and some lovely roses and white carnation from I Am Roses. The corners I got off Ebay, the pink snowflake paper is from the Christmas Swirls Digi Set. I've used a grass die to create icicles on top and sprinkled Glamour Dust and then Stardust Stickles on top.

On the inside of the shaker card, I have colored up a Magnolia stamp with Copics, added some dots to her outfit and some stripes too. Love the sparkly snow beneath their feet. On either side of the picture is the Snowflake #4 die from Cheery Lynn Designs, and the corners are from the Doily Lace Border, with pearls added on top.

Final Update..........we hope

Helloooooooo..........it's meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Well the nerve conduction tests all came back normal, which means they either don't know what my condition is, or what brought it on, or it's a very mild case of GBS, but regardless of that, there is nothing they can do for it except prescribe painkillers, which they've done.........so I'm stuck with this until it goes on it's own or if it never goes away then I'm going to have to learn to live with it.

As for my lower spine and the spinal stenosis, physiotherapy called on Thurs to come in on Friday which I did, she explained everything to me as to what's wrong with the spine and where the problems are and how it affects each part of my legs, but as she said it's a disk and bones problem, so they don't think they can do much for it, as they work the muscles..........so again I'm out of luck with any help there. There apparently is an injection they can give which can kill the pain anywhere from 3 - 6 months time........so I said put me down for that, but they have to get approval for it first from the pain management team which I may not get...........but they don't want to do surgery on my spine as it's a risky operation and I could end up paralyzed, so I have to wait now until the 16th to see what the physio says as to what the pain management team will do or not do.

I'd really love to get back to crafting. I can do die cutting, and put a card together, I just can't color still, as my fingers just don't want to grip a marker........such a shame when I see how much I invested in those markers, for them to just sit there.
Tonight I'm trying to get caught up on all the emails I've received, I'd been ordered to stay off the computer unless necessary by my dear hubby (who has done a wonderful job of looking after me and helping me with tasks I can no longer do), so the emails have piled up, but it's still so painful on my fingers to do any typing. I want to thank you all for your patience in waiting for me to reply.

Hello lovely ladies,

G.B.S. Update, see what I didthere, initials now huh? No more having to type Ging Gang Gooly…Oh wait, justdid…Damn.

Well, we finally did it…We met inthe middle of the room…Took 3 hours to get up…we both fell asleep.

Seriously, Donna is doing well,still Mrs. Wobbly but getting there. She wants you to know that she hasn’tforgotten anyone, it’s just that her fingers don’t work well enough to type,pointing to the kitchen, yes, typing, no.

She’s finding it all veryfrustrating, especially not talking to you all, even more so when she reads allthe lovely things you write to her in the comments.

She had a little go with her penstoday but spent more time swearing at them for not blending, nasty little pens.

Off to the hospital tomorrow to hopefullyget the results of the Nerve Conduction Studies from last week.

We have both decided to develop achest infection at the same time, never do anything separate us. So now we areMr. and Mrs. Cough and Wobble.

So each day I count out her 137pills which she duly takes and I return to my manly duties in the kitchen.Getting very good at making porridge. Kody helps a lot, he licks the plate's and Idry them.

Well my lovelies, I’m off to seethe second half of the football, be good now.

Update, Update, Update

Good Evening Everyone

First off I would like to thank everyone that has kindly sent me a get well card or a birthday card or both, it's so very thoughtful of you all.

As some of you know, it was my birthday yesterday, and both Alan and I quit buying presents for each other as we tend to buy what we want when we want, so we now just go out for a nice meal, but unfortunately it's too much of an effort for me to go out now unless absolutely necessary, so my dear hubby went to McDonald's for me yesterday and brought me back my favorite Big Mac meal, so sweet of him, and I did enjoy it immensely.

Today I went to see the Neurologist, and by the time we got from the parking lot to where my appt was, I was totally knackered from walking and could barely walk anymore, so on the way out the receptionist kindly phoned for a porter and a wheelchair for me......what a lifesaver that was.

Anyhow he did some tests on me, still no reflexes anywhere in my body, and my condition hasn't gotten any better or worse since it started, except that it has creeped up a bit on my arms, it was orginally only my hands that were numb (besides my feet) but now it has gone further up than my forearms, about half way up between the shoulder and the elbow, weakness is still the same.

I will be having the nerve conduction studies done this Sunday afternoon at the Queen's Medical Centre, and he has promised to chase down the results, so he has them for me when I see him next on the 30th of Nov, as it normally can take up to 4 weeks for the results.

The test results should let them know what type of neuropathy I am experiencing, and what my condition is, although it's still considered to be sensory GBS. He is considering having another lumbar puncture performed to see the protein levels in the spinal fluid, and if they have changed any.

The treatment being considered for this, if it is either GBS or CDIP, is ivIG treatment which although carries a fair amount of risks, also has been proven to be helpful in treating this condition. I'm willing to undergo the risks in order to get feeling back to my hands, arms and feet.

I have good days and I have some pretty bad days, but having a hot bath to heat up the extremities has been most helpful as well as plenty of sleep at night as well as a good 2 - 3 hours nap in the daytime.

Seems all I do is sleep, have a bath, watch telly or read my Kindle........I have read 4 books so far and nearly finished a 5th.......wonderful to have as it's so much lighter than a book. When I was at the hospital today and waiting for the neurologist I was reading a magazine, but even that is too heavy for me to hold in my hands, so I just leave it on my lap and turn the pages.

One thing this disability has taught me is I can understand Alan's disability that much better, as he had Polio as a baby, so he has struggled through life, and I can well understand his struggles better now.........but lesson has been learned.

I will begin exercising my legs tomorrow on the exercise bike, the neurologist thought this would be good for me as well, to stop any muscles wasting away.

now onto the good news, I have birthday candy, that I meant to post on Nov 1st, but will be posting tomorrow (will try and get Alan to take pics of it so I have something to show you........so stay tuned for that)

Donna Update part 97…sorry 3

Hello lovely ladies and theodd Gent.

Donna came home yesterday,whooppyyy… but sadly no more late night parties.

I’ve manage to keep her offthe computer, for how long I don’t know, the barb wire is holding but she’s chompingat the bit.

According to the doctors, itis GuillianeBarre Syndrome, or as I callit, Ging-gang-Gooly, mainly because I’m too thick to pronounce it.

She is still very wobbly andhas now got a bit of a chest infection; she’s on the day nurse and resting. Shefelt a little better today but I’m very aware that it could go pear shaped, so I’mkeeping a very close eye on her, day and night.

She’s going to the out patientson Wednesday next for a few tests so we should know a little more as to whetherthere is any lasting nerve damage.

Apart from all that, she isvery happy to be home because she now wakes up to my handsome face staring ather and not some nurse doing, as Donna puts it, another unnecessary test. Sinceboth of us wobble when we walk, timing in crossing the room is most essential,so if you don’t hear from either of us in the next few days, you’ll know wewobbled wrong.

Bearly Mine Challenge #23 One for the Boys

Good Morning everyone, it's time for another challenge at Bearly Mine Challenges, and the challenge this time round is ONE FOR THE BOYS..........normally I'm not keen on that theme, as I struggle to make cards for men/boys, but this one was real easy, as the Christmas season is soon upon us, and this is one image perfect for men's cards for Christmas.

I've used the Toy Soldier image from Kenny K in front of an open window, that I cut out using a square die, then placed the Dainty Dutch Deco from Cheery Lynn Designs around, with some fancy patterned acetate I got off a baking pack from Morrison's, the sentiment inside is from Stampendous, all the lovely poinsetta's are from I Am Roses, leaves from my stash. And the papers are from the Designer Extreme Disk Vol. 3

Latest Update on Donna

Hello Everyone, tis me Donna. I managed to make a deal with the neurologist yesterday to allow me home yesterday afternoon until Monday morning when I have to be back between 8 am and 9 am, just before the neurologists show up once again.

Anyways I had a brain MRI and a spinal MRI on Friday as well as a chest x-ray in the evening. I was wandering the halls of the hospital as I did everyday to stay mobile and I ran into the neurologist who had ordered the tests and asked if he had looked at them, and he hadn't but he did look at them and came back to see me later to say the Brain Scan was normal, but the spinal scan showed a problem which he was referring to the Spinal Team.

I saw the spinal team Saturday morning and they told me I have Spinal Stenosis, which explains the numbness, and tingling in my feet, so that will be treated as an outpatient they say, so at long last I know what's wrong with my spine...........hurray an answer at long last.

As for the numbness, tingling, in my hands and unsteady gait, and muscle weakness and no reflexes in my body, I heard them mention B12 deficiency, so I got on the internet last night and looked it up...........and I do believe they are right as I have more of those symptoms than those of Guillian Barre Syndrome......so I will be printing out all the infomation and arming myself with my usual self diagnosis thingys........lol

At least it's treatable once its diagnosed.......so fingers crossed it is that.

Anyway I would like to say thank you to everyone that has emailed me (Alan has been reading them all to me over the phone) left such lovely comments and also phoned.

Now it's taken me an hour to type this (so hard to do when you have no feeling in your hands and are so unco-ordinated) I am off to sit on the sofa and spend some time with Alan and Kody, and get things ready to take back to the hospital tomorrow morning, as I have no idea how long they will keep me this time.

Donna Update Two

Shewas hoping to be out today (that’s Friday for those of us that have lost all senseof time) but the powers that be say nay. She has to stay in till at least Monday.Oh wait…wait…

Justgot a call from her, she’s being taken down to XRAY now 7.35pm might be somegood news coming.

Itseems it is Guilliane Barre Syndrome

But has been caught early.

The MRI shows that the lower part of her spine has discs that areresting on nerves and they will have to open her up and remove them. His doesn’texplain her hands and the bad coordination that seems to be affecting them, sothey are going to have to look into this as well.

(Good job they don’t want to open up her purse, even I don’t know thecombination to that L.)

This Tuesday, Donna had a spinal tap, most painful to have and very painfulto watch.

She was extremely brave and only broke two of the finger of the hand shewas holding, mine.

None the less, I’m very proud of her, personally, I would have done arunner.

She’s having more tests and an MRI to come. She is being moved to the neurologicalward. (Possibly looking for the Canadian brain cells that make her walk wonky)Can I also thank everyone that sent their best wishes to her. Thank you all.

Won't Be Around for a While

Hi Everyone, just a quick note while I drink my last good cup of cofffee. I have just come back from the doctor's, as some of you know I got the flu two week's ago, but on Saturday morning I woke up and my hands and feet are numb, and I collapsed on Saturday. I waited till today to see the dr, and they are sending me to hospital, as I may have got Guilliane Barre Syndrome, as a result of the flu, so I am being admitted now for tests........

Will keep you updated as and when I can.

My DT Card for Cheery Lynn Designs

Good Morning Everyone, I want to show you an Easel card I made using some of the fabulous dies from Cheery Lynn Designs

For the top of the card I've used the Victorian Romance Flourish die and to create the oval, I've used the Inverted Scalloped Oval Dies, then one of the large oval dies, and a smaller Inverted Scalloped Oval die, and then the Kiwi oval Frame on top of that and I cut out the image using one of the smaller oval dies.

I've used one of my new Tilda stamps, this one is called Winter Tilda, and the lovely papers I've used are from my Christmas Wishes Digi Set

I've added snowflakes from the fabulous snowflake die set, as well as flowers from the Stacker 5 and also the Cherry Blossom. Beneath the flower I've used the pine branches and the lace rose & flourish

For the inside of the Easel card I've used the Border Carnivale, and the sentiment has been cut out using the oval stackers, and oval scalloped stackers.

I really love the size of these snowflakes, just perfect for cards. All the snowflakes have been sponged with distress ink.

New Challenge and New Christmas Images from Kenny K

Good Morning Kenny K Fans, once again Team A has a new challenge for you, and also Kenny K has some fabulous new Christmas Digi's........the one I used on my card is called Reindeer.

I thought this image was so cute and different when I got it, that I just had to use it for my card this week........and then I nearly forgot to add the glitter and bling......Duh!

Colored with copics, then matted onto some green and red cardstock. I've added a glittered die cut snowflake, with a flower on top, some magnolia fern leaves, some jingle bells and berries.

I've also added some holly and berries on either side of the image, some gems that I colored gold. The lovely paper is from my Christmas Joy Digi Set, to which I've added some gold pearl pen to the centres.

The Paper Shelter Challenge #37

Sadly this is my last card for The Paper Shelter, as I've decided to step down from a few of the DT's that I helped to launch and run, so that I would have a little more time for family, and for crafting, just for the fun of it. I've loved this year working with Veronica and Pedro at The Paper Shelter, and also the wonderful girls that make up the teams over there. I'm sure I might even get around entering a challenge or two over there.

Anyways as my farewell card, I have used Victorian Morticia

Colored with Copics I followed Cheryl's video tutorial for the folds in the dress and was quite pleased with the results, she's been cut out and mounted onto one of the nesties labels, which I then added some hand drawn cracks (also added some to the paper as well), the ribbon is from my stash, the cute bats are from Cheery Lynn Designs called "Going Batty" and the corner is the Anastasia border from Cheery Lynn Dies, which I have cut off and overlaid one on top of the other to create a fancy corner. The gorgeous red paper is a Halloween freebie from my shop.

I'm back again to show you a three panel card which I created for Cheery Lynn Designs

On the front of the card, I've used the Anastasia Border cut out of white textured card, then sponged with Vintage Photo distress ink, the Polynesian Sails Oval, Oval Stackers nesting dies, and three butterflies, two from the Exotic Butterflies Small, the larger one from the Butterfly bundle. I've added some roses and then card candy in metallic for the corners.

The other sentiment panel I've used the Kiwi oval frame, the oval Stackers nesting dies, and the Anastasia border.

For the left hand panel, I've used one of the Kenny K Steampunk images on top of the English Tea Party Doily which was embossed using the Old Parchment embossing plate, and you can see the Fanciful Flourish that I've put on two panels by cutting it in half.

For the middle panel I've used the Kiwi Oval Frame with gold mirri card behind it using the Oval Stackers Nesting Dies, and behind all that is the Lattice 2 Frame, cut out of blue and gold card and laid overtop of each other just slightly off to give a shadow effect. I've also cut out one of the small hearts from the Heartland America LG doily, but put clear tape behind it to keep all the pieces in, then stamped a greeting from a stamp set I designed. Another one of the KK Steampunk Burlesque images.

On the right hand panel, another of the Steampunk Burlesque girls is in front of the English Tea Party Doily, again embossed with the Old Parchment embossing plate and you can see the other part of the Fanciful Flourish die

The Paper Shelter Challenge #36 Harvest Time

Good Morning Everyone.........time for another challenge at The Paper Shelter

Don't you just love this time of the year, with all the pretty multicolored leaves falling at your feet as you walk around..........well I don't (LOL) but I do love autumn colors.....probably my favorites colors to use on cards, the rich dark browns, oranges, reds, yellows and greens. I've used the ever so cute Autumn is Coming image for my card, and I've even added blue into the color scheme. Cut out with one of the Wonky Rectangles, I have cut out a couple corners for the image, colored the little girl and all those leaves with Copics. The gorgeous blooms are from I Am Roses.........all in gorgeous color choices. The fabulous leaves are die cuts from Cheery Lynn Designs, which I have sponged with a variety of distress inks and then sprayed some pearl glimmer mist on them to give them some shine. The dragonfly is a peel off that I mounted on some card, the papers are all from my Designer Extreme Cd's, and the white mount behind the image is from a patp punch from MS.

Christmas Wreaths

Good Morning all you fans of the Cheery Lynn Dies, Donna here once again to show you a couple of wreaths I've created for our home, I love Christmas wreaths, on both wreaths I've used flowers and an assortment of beads, pearls and twirlies and of course the Cheery Lynn Stacker Leaf die which is just perfect for using behind your flowers. I die cut about 50 of each die for both wreaths, for the Green one, I cut it out using 5 different shades of green cardstock, and with the fabulous lines in the leaves, I was really pleased with how they turned out.

I've also used the Exotic Butterflies small which you can see better in this closeup picture. The butterfly was cut out of textured cardstock, then I sponged Distress ink around the edges and added some stickles to give some sparkle to them and added some tiny pearls to the body of the butterfly.......after all Butterflies are Winter's Kisses.

The flowers, leaves and other assorted items were all stuck down onto a polystryrene wreath that I painted green before starting.

Now here's another type of Christmas wreath, this was orginally a plain wooden heart I found in the Christmas decorations area of a shop. I first embossed the Heartland America XL die, instead of cutting it out, this allowed me to color the raised embossed parts with copics in the colors I would be using - Pink, Blue and Green. I then printed out a sentiment, stamped the House Mouse image below it and cut it out by tracing around the 2nd size of the Heart to Heart Doily, colored the image with copics and then laid clear matting over it to protect the image from yellowing over time. I then surrounded it with flowers, pearls, etc and of course the Leaf die, that I cut out of textured white card and just sponged Distress ink in Vintage Photo all along the edges of the leaves.

I also used one of the new Snowflake dies - Snowflake #4 and hung it below using some pink ribbon. Again I sponged ink around the edges, then added stardust stickles and a small pearl to the centre of it.

I think I'll make a trip back to that shop and see if they have any more of these wooden hearts available, I can picture another color scheme in my head. And I've used a House Mouse stamp that I bought last year and never got round to using it, don't those Candy Canes look yummy.

Kenny K Challenge #65 Autumnal Colors

Good Morning all you Kenny K fans out there........today I'm showing you a card I made for the Autumnal colors challenge we have going on at Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge, I love these colors......probably my all time favorite colors to use, and don't they just suit Jayne Jettpack, one of the Steampunk girlz perfectly.

Emerald Faerie Garden Challenge #11 Flowers

Good Evening Everyone, it's time for another challenge at Emerald Faerie Gardens, and this is my last challenge I'll be taking part in as part of the DT, as I have decided to step down in order to cut back a bit on my crafting, and have a little more time for family and friends and non crafting things.

This week's challenge is flowers

For my card, I've used one of the newer stamps, called Ashee, isn't he just adorable sleeping on that mushroom. Colored with copics, I've added some pearl maker in crystal to the bumps to enhance them. All the lovely flowers are from I Am Roses, the border is a Nellie Snellen one, and the lovely papers are from the Just Plaids Digi Set, and the Floral Fantasy Digi Set. I've also added some pearls using the Pearl Maker pen as well.

New Releases at Cheery Lynn Designs

Happy Weekend to you all, today the Cheery Lynn Design Team is showing you the NEW RELEASES at Cheery Lynn Designs with some fabulous creations.

I created a front panel Stair card using the new Princess's Garden Window Frame as the centrepiece, I first embossed it onto gold holographic cardstock, then cut it out of a white piece of linen cardstock, raised it up on foam pads to give it a little dimension between the layers. I've also used one of the fabulous new snowflake 1 dies now available at Cheery Lynn Designs in the middle of the frame, again embossed and cut out of gold holographic card and added a pink pearl heart in the centre of that.

The front border is the new Dancing Doily Lace border and is so delicate and pretty, cut out of gold cardstock, I've added pearls along the border. I can see using this border a lot this year.

On the two side panels I have added another new snowflake 4 die in two layers, and added some stardust stickles to the edges with a white pearl in the centre.

Inside the card I have used the Kiwi Spirit Doily Die, which I created a mat behind it by tracing around the doily, and then cutting a larger piece out by hand, I've also used one of the scalloped circles nesting dies for the mat behind the sentiment which is from LOTV.

I stamped the images onto white card, using the Santa from Sugar Nellie and three of the little house mouse stamps with the gifts they've received from Santa. The snow was created using Polar White Flower Soft, Glamour dust, and then when dried, I went over it with Stardust Stickles. I chalked the blue around the edges of the white card.

Bearly Mine Challenge #21 Easel Does It

Good Morning Everybody.......wow two cards from me in a week, amazing.......LOL

Another challenge at Bearly Mine Challenges, this time it's Easel cards.........I still love this type of card, so to make it a little bit different I decided to make a Shaker Easel Card (just to be different from everyone else)

Well I started out sticking down this double sided foam on a roll which I have been saving it for years (must have had about 15 rolls in a drawer), well after sticking myself and the scissors and just about everything else, bar the image, I peeled it back off (well ripped is a better description) and threw all of the rolls in the bin and managed to find one roll that looked a bit different, so I tried that, and at least it worked. The image is one of the new Christmas stamps from LOTV called "Twinkling Star", colored with Copics, I then added some white flower soft, silver stars, glamour dust and two teaspoons of sugar for the shaker, the plastic on the front is from a Morrison's baking pack, the image was cut with the oval stackers nesting dies from Cheery Lynn Designs, as was the two frames in front, I used the Scalloped Stackers nesting dies for those.

All the papers are from the Christmas Wishes set, except the paper with birds, that's from the Christmas Glee Digi Set

All flowers are from I Am Roses, except the heather, ribbon and pearls from my stash.

Good Morning Everyone, Donna here again showing you a Fall Easel card I made using the new Tiffany Border die around the outer edge. I just love the colors of fall......all so nice and warm.

On the front of the card I have used the Dimensional Small Leaves (under the flowers in the corners), which I cut out using white textured linen card, then sponged them all with an assortment of Distress inks to achieve the various fall colors of reds, oranges, golds, yellows, greens and browns. I also added the Bird on a Branch and Bird on a Branch 2 dies (minus the bird). I think they make excellent swirls and branches, perfect for this time of year. Again they were all sponged with the distress inks. The image of Kai playing in the leaves was mounted on cardstock on top of the Dutch Scallop Square

In these two pictures, you can see a closeup of the Bird on a Branch dies and the Dimensional Leaves. I've also used the Tropical Flourish cut into two pieces behind the leaves.

On the inside of the Easel card I used the Circle Stackers and Scalloped Circle Stackers for my greeting area and the Anastasia border along the sides, as this is a very large Easel card, it's 8x8 inches.

The Paper Shelter Challenge #34 Halloween

Good Morning Everyone, time for another challenge at the Paper Shelter, with the theme this week being HALLOWEEN.......so we'd like to see all your Halloween cards, and the Paper Shelter have some real cuties for you to check out.

For my card, I created an easel card using Bewitched Night, colored with copics, cut out and mounted on top of one of my Fancy Circle Backgrounds which I colored the centre orange to represent the moon.

The bats are a Cheery Lynn Die called "Going Batty", the inside sentiment is computer generated, and laid onto the Kiwi Spirit Doily die from Cheery Lynn Designs

I've added a couple silver peeloffs for the corners. The papers are freebies found in my blog shop

There is only one rule for entering the challenges. if you use one of their products on your card you will be entitled to the whole amount of $20, but even if you dont and you are picked the winner by random org, you will still win one of their images of your own choice.

My First Official Project for Cheery Lynn Designs...

Good Morning Everybody, today is the first of many creations I'll be showing you, using the fabulous dies from Cheery Lynn Designs, and with Halloween coming up, I created this lantern.

I was Christmas shopping and spotted a little red tin lantern in the shop, and the idea came to me to create a Halloween lantern (my mind works in mysterious ways

(Christmas = Halloween ? ).......so the first die I reached for to create the windows was the

Lattice Frame 2, I then built my lantern based around that die. I created a few prototypes to begin with, just to make sure everything fit nicely together and with a few small adjustments here and there.......this is what I came up with.

Two panels have the Lattice Frame 2 with acetate, so you can see inside, and two panels are also using the Lattice Frame 2 but with images in front of them.

Here you can see the little battery operated tea light inside.....gives off a lovely eerie glow.

I've used the Lattice Frame 2 with acetate behind it and then the Frame again to hold the acetate in place. The lantern was created using HEAVY card mount as I didn't have any black card and it was very difficult to cut, but it's very nice and sturdy. The black spider was a glow in the dark plastic spider that I colored black using a permanent marker The lovely fringe on the lid was created using the Anastacia Border. And the base was created using the Border Carnivale.

The super cute bats are the Cheery Lynn Die " Going Batty" and the spider web is one I printed out and then used a Sakura pen on it to enhance it. I really wished I had used the new Spider web die that Cheery Lynn has out now.........ah there is always next year.

The lantern itself sits on a base that is attached, but the lid is removable to be able to put in my battery operated tea light.

Kenny K Challenge #63 Girls & Diecuts

Good Morning Kenny K Fans, it's Team A's challenge this week at Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge, and I've chosen the theme of Girls and Diecuts, so we'd like to see more than one girl on your card and using some of your favorite Die cuts.

I've used Wicked Wanda in Red and her friend Kitty Katastrophe, both from the Gothik Angelz series, perfect for this time of year with Halloween coming up. Although we don't really celebrate Halloween here in the UK, I still enjoy making Halloween cards.

Bearly Mine Challenge #20

Good Morning Everyone, time for a new challenge at Bearly Mine Challenges, and this week our wonderful theme is 3 X DP, so we'd like to see you using at least 3 different papers on your cards.

For my card, I made a crisscross card, using papers from my Christmas Wishes Digi set, and some lovely lace. The snowflake is a die cut that I sponged with distress ink and then sprinkled Glamour Dust all over it. The insert is using a LOTV image cut out with one of of the new nesties. The tiny snowflakes are from a Martha Stewart punch, and the top is a spellbinders tag, so you can pull it out easily.

Good Morning Everyone........it's time for a new challenge at The Paper Shelter, and this week Marie has set the challenge of "Anything Goes".......now we all know how much you like the Anything Goes challenges......and The Paper Shelter have some wonderful images for you to use on your cards too, so head on over to the shop and check them out.

For my card I used "I May Have Exaggerated a Bit" image

colored her with Copics, and I've used a Black Sakura pen on her shoes, the spider webs and the spider. I just love the expression on her face. The two pumpkins are from a set of stamps from Inkadinkado. The little spider web in the corner of the image was drawn by me. I've used a MS punch for the border and added some purple pearls. The lovely Halloween paper behind the image was created specifically for this card, but will be available as a freebie in my shop near the end of Sept. (so keep checking back)

Good Morning Kenny K Fans, it's time for another great challenge at Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge.......and this time I made it REALLY SUPER EASY.......I want to see your ALL TIME FAVORITE Kenny K digi image on your card or projects...........

So after humming and hawing as to which was my favorite image......I finally settled on Vicki Lee Vicious

Colored with copics in blues and blacks, she is mounted onto the Kiwi Oval Frame from Cheery Lynn Designs. All four blue papers are from my Designer Extreme CD's. I've added some swirls and some lovely roses from I AM Roses and pearls from my stash.

Emerald Faerie Garden Challenge - Pearls

Hi Everyone, welcome to another challenge at Emerald Faerie Garden Challenges, Team B's Challenge for you is..................... PEARLS

As I need to make a start on my Christmas cards, as Christmas looms ever closer each day, I decided to make Isabella into one of Santa's little helpers. These wonderful new Digi stamps are available in the shop now. I've also added a little white bobble at the end of her hat by making a clear dome using crystal pearl maker pen and sprinkling glamour dust on it while it was wet, then I let it sit overnight to dry.

I've colored Isabella using copics, the wings were done using Stardust Stickles, I've added a couple presents stamps I've had for years.

Snowflakes are from a MS punch, the doily die behind the circle is from Cheery Lynn Dies and is the English Tea Party Doily.

The leaves are from a punch, and the poinsetta's which have been sprinked with glamour dust are all from I Am Roses

The gold corner is from Ebay, pearls are from my stash. The lovely red and green papers are from my Christmas Digi set Christmas Delight

Good Morning and Welcome to another challenge at The Paper Shelter, this week Team A has set the lovely challenge of Fairies and Elves, and there are lots of faeries or elves to choose from in the shop. I've used Fairy Emma today, and colored her in some bright yellow, green and blues with copics, and added stardust stickles to her wings. I've colored her hair using E42,41 and E40. She's been cut out and placed on a white mat that I used a MS punch on, sponged the edges with peeled paint distress ink and added some stardust stickles around the edges. The two lovely papers are from my Simply Dots digi set and the Fairyland Dreams Digi set

Bearly Mine Challenge #19

Good Morning Everyone, it's a new Challenge at Bearly Mine Challenges once again, and the fabulous Jackie has chosen Buttons as the theme for the next two weeks, so it's time to dig out all those buttons you've been hoarding for years, and if you haven't, well find some on some old clothes and add them to your project......or make your own.

I bought a pack of 5 brown paper bags at The Range last week and was itching to decorate one of them. So I've used two papers from my Fairyland Dreams Digi set, to cover the front and back of the back, then used a MS punch to decorate the top and bottom of the bag. I've used the Lattice 2 Frame from Cheery Lynn Dies behind Ebony sponged it with Rusty Hinge Distress ink. The two faeries are Ebony and one half of Willy and Mia, colored with Copics, and I've added some Magnolia mushrooms. All the gorgeous flowers are from I AM Roses. I've added a couple buttons in the bottom corner at the end of some orange ribbon, and there is a couple behind the flowers in the upper left hand corner. The sentiment was stamped on gold paper and attached with ribbon.

New Steampunk Releases at Kenny K and a New Challenge

Good morning Everyone.......what a wonderful day it is.......you may ask why, well I'll tell ya.........Kenny K has released some fabulous new Steampunk Digi's......can he top the last release of them?......well if you check out the Challenge blog and see what my fellow teamies have to show you....you'll see for yourself.

This little beauty is called Capt. Locke. I've colored her with Copics, and added some glossy accents to her glasses and to the keys. I've distressed around the circle and punched some holes in it to frame her, the doo dad behind the circle is from a Cheery Lynn die Dutch Scallop Square (the inside part), the key charms are from a lovely friend in Australia (Deb). Sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps, the gold corner is off Ebay, and the paper is from a steampunk digi set I am working on.

And because I had the time, I made another card, this time using Helga Frost, colored with Copics, and then I've added a border with a couple ms punches, and some lovely ribbon, it's so nice being able to have the right color of ribbon for your project. I've added some leaves from a punch, one flower and some head pins. The corners are bronze peeloffs mounted on teal card and then raised up using silicone glue. Pearls from my stash too. The silver doodad is from the Cheery Lynn Dutch Scallop Square again. The paper is from my Designer Extreme Cd's

Guest Designer For Cheery Lynn Designs

I was so excited to be asked by Sandy to be the guest designer at Cheery Lynn Designs for today, and couldn't wait to show you different ways to use the fabulous dies, so I created a book card 6x6 size. I've used a The Happy Couple image from The Paper Shelter for the focal image, mounted onto the Dutch Scallop Square Doily Die, which I cut out using Silver Mirri card, then mounted that onto the Dainty Dutch Deco Doily Die that was cut out of black shimmery cardstock. I then stuck this down onto some white line cardstock that I embossed using the Diamonds and Starburst Embossing plate.

I've added some red roses misted with pearl glimmer mist, added a black feather and used

parts of the Fanciful Flourish, so bits of it are sticking out amongst the flowers. I've also used some white organza ribbon behind it all to hold the book closed, and finished it off with some sparkly peel off borders.

The red roses in the image have had Glossy Accents added to them. All roses are from I Am Roses.

The inside of the card book, I've used the Kiwi Oval Frame over a lovely sentiment I found on the computer, and this has been placed over some linen cardstock that I ran through using the Diamonds and Starbursts embossing plate again, and added some peeloff borders and corners. On the other side I created an accordion style book and added the Border Carnivale to the top on all edges and distressed with Black Soot Distress ink. I've also added a lovely double hearts charm inside.

My Last Whimsy Card

Today I am showing you the last card I made for Whimsy Stamps, which you can also see in the 2nd edition of Whimsy Magazine. I've stepped down from Whimsy in order to have a little more family time.

I've used the Kenny K Star Stamp, colored with copics, and mounted onto the centre design which is a combination of die cuts from Go Kreate The Stars are from Spellbinders and I've used a digital sentiment from Ann Vento. The silver corner is from Ebay, the flowers are all from I Am Roses, the butterfly is also what I found on Ebay. The guitar charm is from my friend Kimmi. The lovely paper is from my Winter Swirls digi set.

A Card Just for the Fun of It

I've used Fru Fru Fairy from High Hopes, and colored with Copics.......I love the oranges, purples and reds I've used to color this, good ole autumnal colors, some of my fav's. She's been cut out using nesties label 18

All papers are from my Designer Extreme Cd's.....and the lovely flowers and leaves are from I Am Roses, and the sentiment is from Emerald Faerie Garden Shop. The borders surrounding the card are a MFT die I do believe.

Whimsy Treasure Box

Today I'm showing you this Christmas Treasure box I created for Whimsy Magazine, which is out now. I've used lots of sentiments and images from Whimsy Stamps, both by Crissy Armstrong and Meljen's Designs, as well as sentiments from Raindrop Echo Designs. I created the Treasure box using matchboxes and covers that I made from hand using a matchbox as a template. Each one was then inked around the edges with distress inks and a brad placed in the centre to grab hold of to open. The sides were made using the mega scalloped die from spellbinders, and then each image was colored with copics. The roof of the house was created using a MS punch and distressed with Distress inks. The chimney was cut out by my hubby, as I am not that creative (LOL) which I then stamped with a brick pattern and colored. The icicles hanging from the house and chimney is actually a grass die, but I cut them out on white cardstock then ran some glue over them and sprinkled glamour dust on them.

Since I took these pictures, I have since added numbers to the drawers using Safmat and will be giving it to the two girls across the road before Dec, so their parents can fill the drawers with little treats for them.

Good Morning Everyone, it's Wednesday so a new challenge at The Paper Shelter, and this week Team B is showing you some inspiration for using The Paper Shelter images with Dies and Punches, so get out all those dies we all love and the punches and start creating.

For my card I used the Gothika image, and removed the stone wall and moon, and instead placed her inside one of my circles which make great backgrounds and will soon be available in my shop.

The image was colored with Tria markers and Copics, I filled the inner circle with Stardust Stickles and Glamour Dust. I've used a couple MS punches for the corners of the image and the purple matting behind. The swirl is a Magnolia die, flowers are all from I Am Roses, flower spikes and stamens from my stash.

The paper is one of the freebies in my shop.

Kenny K Krafty Girlz Challenge

Hi Everyone, I'm officially back from my holiday break and just in time for a new Kenny K Challenge........this week it's Team A and the challenge is LAYERS.......we want to see all those layers on your cards.

For my card I used one of the new Steampunk Burlesque images by Kenny K, called Eva Pearl, and I've layered up the card using different papers and cardstock in matching colors, then a layer of ribbon and a MS punched border, plus layering the sentiment.

The lovely papers are from my Designer Extreme Cd's, the silver corners are a spellbinders fleur de lis motifs, the lovely flowers are a gift I received from Elena and Kenny, I recolored the centres of the flowers to match the card.

A New Card and The Winner of the My KKKG Blog Candy

Hello Peeps, I thought I'd show you a card I made using Boogie Down rubber stamp available at the Whimsy Store. Colored with Copics. I kept the card fairly simple with no flowers OMG! But I did use some gorgeous blue satin ribbon. I've used one of the spellbinders nesties to cut her out, and used the wonderful music background stamp by Ann Vento of Raindrop Echo Designs, also available at Whimsy Stamps. The die cut music notes I got from Dies to Die For, I do believe it's the mft music notes die. I've sponged distress inks onto the background and distressed the edges. The background paper is from my Designer Extreme Vol. 2

Kenny K Challenge #53 A Pocket Card

Good Morning Everyone, well the Anniversary blog hop has now finished and it's time for a brand new challenge at the Kenny K Krafty Girlz Challenge, and our new Team Leader for Team "A" Kimmi has chosen "A Pocket Card", nice and easy.

I've decorated the front of my card using papers from my Winter Swirls Digi Set, and I've used the Border Carnivale from Cheery Lynn Designs and some lace. I've wrapped some ribbon around the whole card and did my flower arrangement on the ribbon.

The beautiful roses are from I Am Roses and sprayed with pearl glimmer mist. I've added a dangly bit I made using beads and attached with a jump ring.

For my pocket card I had to be different, cause that's just the way I am, so I created this card based on the standard criss cross card, but instead of leaving it closed and just pulling out the centre with image and sentiment on it, I decided to decorate the inside and put a sentiment behind a piece of card and acetate that was raised up on foam pads. I printed out the sentiment on one of my Digi papers, then used the English Tea Doily from Cheery Lynn Designs and attached it to the back of the card, I then laid the acetate and paper backing in front of it. The little banners info I printed out on the computer, then stamped over them. I have also attached a magnet to keep the card closed. The pocket with image was colored with copics, and laid over top of the Heart to Heart Doily from Cheery Lynn Designs.

The doily was then laid over a patterned vellum glued to some card, Unfortunately you can't see the lovely pattern in the picture

Fred She Said July Blog Hop

Good Morning Everyone, well anyone that is up at this hour lol, it's 5 AM here in the UK, and it's time for another Fabulous Fred She Said Blog Hop

Once again I'm participating as a Guest Designer for the hop, and joining Fred and these fabulous ladies to show you some of the gorgeous items in the Fred She Said shop. The Theme this month is FAVORITES

I created this Easel card using the Christmas Wreath collection set, as well as the Flying Winter Birds precolored set. I thought it was time to start on my Christmas cards, so this is my first Christmas card for the year. There's something about a Christmas wreath that I really love, it just cries out "Christmas is Here" I printed the wreath out onto white cardstock with the birds, I then printed out a couple more birds, used glossy accents on them with a bit of sparkle dust, and mounted them with foam pads. The sentiment in the centre is from LOTV, cut out with a nestie and mounted using foam pads for some dimension.

All the lovely red roses are from my stash, along with the holly leaves, berries, pins and the color metal corner. The mat behind the wreath is one of the new Cheery Lynn dies called "Dainty Dutch Deco". The papers are all from various Christmas Digi Sets available in my shop

On the inside of the Easel card I've used another Cheery Lynn Designs Doily called "French Pastry" mounted on foam pads, the lovely poinsetta's I created using red petals from I Am Roses

I've also added a couple more little winter birds that have had glossy accents and crystal dust added to them.

For my card I've used the Vintage Labels Stamp by Raindrop Echo Designs. I so love these background stamps that Ann creates, they are perfect for so many types of cards, and these vintage labels are great for all those steampunk cards and images that seem to be the rage of late. Unfortunately I haven't been able to show you some other ways of using this stamp, as I've been laid up with a bad back for a week now. I've used some lovely roses from I Am Roses, and the paper is from my Designer Extreme Cd Vol. 2. I've also used a couple of the fabulous new elegant flourishes dies. You can never have too many dies I say.

The image is a Stampavie image, but with baking a cake was perfect with the food labels.

Ain't She a Cutie

Hello all you lovely peeps, I'm late with a few of my DT cards, because silly me overdid it in the garden on Thurs, and threw my back out, it's utter agony still but am living on some wonderful anti-inflammatories, having loads of hot baths, and Alan is doing what he can to massage it, I can't sit for long periods of time, so it's a little difficult to make any cards just yet, but here is one I made last weekend.

The card I made is for the Bildmalarna Challenge, where I set the theme of pearls, lace and flowers. I know how we all love to add those to our cards. The little cutie is called Mimosa Scarecrow, but I just love her little outfit so I made the straw look like part of her outfit. I've added some dots and swirls to her as well. The beautiful paper is from one of my Designer Extreme Cd's, and I also used a sheet from the Damask Delight Digi set. The circle behind her is one of the new nellie dies, the corners are from the fleur de lis accents die set, pearls are from my stash, as are the leaves. The tags are another nestie labels die, the sentiment circle is from LOTV, the flowers are all from I Am Roses, the dragonflies and butterflies are holographic stickers, lace is from Bunny zoe's Crafts.

The Paper Shelter Challenge #22 For the Birds

It's a brand new challenge at The Paper Shelter, and this time its For the Birds, so any image with birds or wings would suit this challenge perfectly. I chose to use the Cockatoo Rules pre-colored image which I enhanced with Copics once it was printed out. The papers are from one of the Designer Extreme disks and the sentiments are computer generated.
