Closing Down Sale

Due to the new European laws regarding VAT starting January 1st, 2015, I will be closing down my shop......last day to purchase any Digi sets is Dec 31st.
It's a sad situation that European laws have managed to affect so many Digital businesses in the crafting world and that are shutting down to these new laws.
It's been a wonderful 7½ years, and I thank you all for supporting my online Digi business for all these years....I'm going to miss designing papers for card making, but if I ever design some more in the future I'll be sure to pass along the freebies to you all.
------------------------------------------------

I'm holding a 50% off sale on all my Digi sets in the shop, and in addition I have added all my retired sets available to purchase via email (as they don't fit in the e-shop). All of the retired sets are listed at £2.00. I have created a separate tab up top showing you all the retired sets available.

THANK YOU EVERYONE! Mwah

A Spooky Scene for I Am Roses

Today I'm showing you the creation I made for I Am Roses. I started by creating this background and using diecuts from Memory Box and Cheery Lynn Designs for the trees and lampost. The fence is from Cottage Cutz. I then created a coffin using a Martha Stewart template and found these amazing RIP headstones on Google. I've used a few spiders and skeletons of course....things you'd find in a graveyard. I also created a pumpkin using a small circles die. I've used Red and Black Roses throughout the ground and around the coffin and in front of one of the headstones......the Red and Black Roses are perfect for Halloween projects.

You can find the red and black roses I've used for my project by clicking on the links below

Don't forget we have our challenge running with the theme of Black and Orange and the Challenge is to decorate a bag

Black and Orange = HALLOWEEN

Happy October 1st to you all.........today is a new challenge at I Am Roses challenge blog and this month's challenge is Orange and Black.....but we'd like to see you decorate a bag of sorts.
I started with a white paper bag and you can see it's definitely decorated

....but as Halloween is coming up, I just had to create a trick or treat bag. Not that I would use it......but I do remember the days back in Canada when I used to go trick or treating.....even into my 20's.....lol

Anyhow to create this bag I took some black card and glued it to the bag, then glued on some frightfully Halloween papers from Bearly Mine Designs Halloween Fantasy and glued them to the black card., going down in size. I also added a graphic of a moon to go behind Tilda in the sky. Tilda is layered in 3D using foam dots between the layers. I cut out some spider webs using a CLD die, and a cloud using a MB die, and the bats are also a CLD die.
The spider web border at the bottom behind the flowers is also a CLD die.

The side panels are papers from the Halloween Fantasy of which I cut out so the spider was a main focus. I then cut out some small spiders and mounted them using foam dots.

The other side of the bag uses another Tilda stamp, this time with pumpkins, again I colored 3 of her and cut out pieces to 3D it, and set her down in front of a white fence, with a black spooky tree die cut and some cute little ghosties in the trees. I also put some black card inside the bag to mask the white and colored the handles with a copic black marker.

The large spider on the handle is from a Halloween decorating set, and the foliage are die cuts from Marianne Designs
All of the flowers used to decorate the bag are from the huge selection at I Am Roses and are listed below.

So let's see those decorated bags.......and head on over to the I Am Roses Challenge blog for a chance to win some gorgeous blooms

I Love Fall Colors

Hi Everyone.......I'm back today with my DT card for I Am Roses......I created a 3D image using one of the Sherri Baldy images....cause it reminded me of myself after all this gardening this year, but I loved every minute of it.
Colored with copics, then mounted each layer using foam dots.
The papers are from Bearly Mine Designs Fall Fancy and Mixed Media Digi Sets, and of course the flowers are all from I Am Roses....I just had to use all the gorgeous oranges, reds and browns, perfect for this time of year. For a complete listing of flowers, please read below.

Thanks for stopping by........I'll be back

In Time with Steampunk

Good Morning, today we start a new challenge at I Am Roses, and our theme this month is Steampunk with the added addition of BUTTERFLIES

I started off my Steampunk clock using the clock frame from Kaisercraft, and covered it in a selection of  papers from Bearly Mine Steampunk Fantasy and Steampunk Fantasy II
I then used a CLD balloon die and wings die. Gears are from various die companies. The metal butterfly and bee and clock are from Ebay, and of course the gorgeous blooms are from I Am Roses......where you can find a great selection of flowers in various sizes and colors too. A complete listing of the flowers used will be listed below.
The centre of the clock is from Outlaw, with a KennyK steampunk image and cogs inside. The quote is one I found on the internet..

A New Style card for me

Hello, today is my day to show you one of the projects I've created for I Am Roses using their gorgeous flowers......now who doesn't love flowers on a card. And for the first time I've created a swing card using Norma's tutorial off Splitcoast Stampers.
I love this style of card and think I may try making one again, this time from memory though. I hope you enjoyed what I've created today. Thanks for stopping by...mwah!

An Amazing Transformation

BEWARE....LONG POST AND LOTS OF PICS

I know a few of you have been wondering where I have been for the last three months....well here in pictures is my explanation. We started off in the front garden (unfortunately I didn't take any pics of what it used to look like, but I did take the image of our front garden from Google Maps, imagine it worse than this as the Google image is two years old so it was even MORE OVERGROWN than this picture shows)

We had new fencing installed along the side of the front garden and along the hedge in the front and side, so the fencing people removed the hedge for this purpose. The ivy growing along the front, the roof and the sides was removed by Alan and I and a little help from the fencing people. Then Alan removed all the grass that was a few feet deep and I threw it all into a skip we hired, then all the shrubs and the trellising that was along the front of the bungalow was removed and thrown in too, then Alan dismantled the front planter in the centre of the lawn that used to house a giant cordyline and a rockery, all of this went into the skip as well, and finally the two tier brick planter I had him build many years ago was also dismantled and thrown in the skip.
We then removed as many weeds as we could by digging down deep, churning over all the soil, then stomped it all down, I sprinkled salt over the entire lawn area, then Alan covered it with weed fabric and we had a delivery of two tons of gravel delivered and we proceeded to throw that all on the weed fabric and voila it became a blank canvas ready to be created.......and this is how it turned out.

and alongside the fencing by the alleyway I created a rockery

That was all completed by mid June and then it was time to start in the back garden.
Again I forgot to take before pics of the whole area, but here is part of what it looked like.

and after three weeks of Alan demolishing everything except one of the big planters, and taking up all the bricks, and relaying them after churning it all over to remove as much of the weeds as possible, then stomping down the ground, sprinkling salt all over the ground and then laying down the weed fabric and then relaying all the bricks.......this is what it has become, a wide open area with our strawberry trees at the far end, a beautifully made bench for sitting down to water everything, lots of trellising we spent days painting both sides of, a rockery beneath the strawberry trees, and a perennial garden in front of the greenhouse which has been covered with trellising.

My WATERMELON patch for the summer of 2015

The lovely bench Alan built for me, just perfect in every way!

Our Zombie solar lantern in a churchyard fence setting at the front of the veggie patch

Beans in front, last lot of peas in the tub, and a massive amount of cherry tomatoes

My fabulous crop of sweetcorn

And finally our third garden area.......where we can relax and sunbathe in privacy and stay in the shade when need be. This is as far as we got last year, and that was just filling in the pond area, and once it was filled in, it was piled high with excess soil, tree trunks, bricks, concrete slabs, wood from the bench, and other piles of garden junk, which all went into the skip thanks to the help of Teresa and Dave who managed the clear the area in 3 hours, so it was just flat soil.......a whole new area to work on....

Voila.......this is what it then became

Two sun loungers for relaxing on

Trellising put up as a screen against the neighbours view, planted with a variety of clematis and passion flowers, and a giant planter with my pink Hydrangea.

More trellising put up to display my giant metal butterfly and for more varieties of passion flowers to grow up and over the entrance way.

Alan's wonderful pond he created on the spur of the moment.....the perfect spot surrounded by the rockery he built and I filled in with plants. When we finished the garden (as this will be the last rebuild) we had a custom sign made for it.....it still needs to be attached to the front of the pond. We have four goldfish in the pond and three frogs as of last count.

The rockery leading away from the pond alongside the alleyway fence.

The end of the rockery and one of the 2 garden lights Alan wired in so we can enjoy the garden in the evenings as well.

A downward view of the pond from over the fence.....see the goldfish

More trellishing behind the pond and just perfect for holding my gecko clock.

Well now you know why I haven't been around for ages......we started all the demolition work on May 15th and finished it by bleaching the deck and re-oiling it for another years protection yesterday just before the storm started. I hope you enjoyed seeing the pictures of all our hard work. All of the garden especially the front garden has been designed to be low maintenance, no lawn to mow, no hedges to trim anymore, just water the plants and plant annuals each year.........WOO HOO!

It's been a long three months but I think you'll agree it's an amazing transformation, along with over 1100 bricks, 2 tons of gravel, 16 bags of golden flint gravel for the rockery and planters, 670 litres of compost, 13 trellis panels, 10 litres of black paint and oodles and oodles of plants.......this is OUR GARDEN
